Music Ministry
Music is a vital part of the worship life of St. Andrew. A number of opportunities are provided for our people to use their talents in proclaiming the Gospel through music.
The Adult Choir is our body of fellowship that enjoys singing and bringing a message of praise, love and thanksgiving to God through song. We the choir, as a body, accept a role of leadership in worship. We sing each Sunday in either the 8:00 or 10:35 a.m. services and on requested special Sundays of significance (such as Christmas, Easter, dedications and other celebrations). If you are interested in participating in the Adult Choir, practice is at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays in the Fellowship Hall. During Lent, practice is at 7:45 p.m.
Jericho, our praise band and Steadfast, our youth praise band, offer a contemporary sound to lead our 9:15 a.m. Contemporary Worship, an extreme experience for youth and young adults. We utilize people's talents on drums, guitars, keyboard and voice.
Children's Music. Our children occasionally offer a musical, based on the Christmas story or another Bible story. They are encouraged to work with our Music Coordinator in using their musical talents as an offering for Vacation Bible School, Sunday School and specified church related activities; and as they grow and mature in their musical abilities, they may desire to enhance our worship with their musical offerings.
Handbells. St. Andrew has a new musical group called "St. Andrew Mission Bells"! Our "mission" is to promote handbells at St. Andrew. Our "mission" is to praise God with our joyful ringing. Our "miision" is to work toward the purchase of handbells at St. Andrew. If you would like to be a part of this "mission", we practice Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. During Lent, practice will be at 5:45 p.m. in the Upper Classroom.
