Our Life Group Vision
The Model
All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper[a]), and to prayer. A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity[b]—all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved. Acts 2.42-47
The Vision St Andrew will be come a church of life (small) groups. Every member participates in the Life Group experiences.
The Why As St Andrew grows larger, we must also grow smaller so that members do not get “lost in the crowd” but feel a connection to a Life Group where they feel included and involved.
Core Values: The life group experience provides multiple desired outcomes.
1. Together, participants will share life and gain a deeper understanding of life’s various stages. V 44 And all the believers met together
2. Together, participants will experience the fulfillment and satisfaction of service to others. V 45 They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need
3. Together, participants will experience the reward of a life in Jesus where decisions are made and actions are taken based on his example. V 42 All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer
4. Together, participants will experience the joy of laughing, loving, learning and growing in a Christian environment. V 46-47 with great joy and generosity all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people.
The Win Life Groups connect members to each other and to Jesus. As we grow our relationships with fellow Christians, we grow our relationship with our Lord and Savior. The pure joy of being filled with the love of Christ is magnified when it is studied and shared with others. A church family that is connected to each other and to Jesus will be anxious to serve others and as we are told in Acts 2.47, “The Lord will add to our number daily those who are being saved.” |
